About Gearhead Garage
Gearhead Garage is a webseries created to show the connection developed between gearheads and their projects. To shine a light on beautiful builds and passionate owners. We don’t discriminate between domestic or import, old or new, or what type of vehicle it is. If it was built with passion — we’re interested in it.
I’ve been working on cars, trucks, and motorcycles for about 10 years doing anything from basic maintenance to full rebuilds and engine swaps. I began to realize there were few things that feel greater than driving or riding something you've built. Your five senses are fully saturated in this experience. You smell your car running a bit rich on the cold start. You see the steering wheel and the hood in front of you, pointing the way forward. You feel and hear the engine climb as you press your right foot down. You feel the gear changes, the shift in weight as you go around a corner. You feel the worn leather on the steering wheel as you grip it just a bit tighter. All of this has come about from what you’ve built with your own two hands.
This bond is something that I’ve tried to explain to so many people, but I've found that often words are not enough. Film naturally presented itself as the most useful medium for this mission. I want to use this show to help showcase these people who have this passion, this connection, show it to the world, and hopefully create a few more gearheads along the way.
Gearhead Garage came about the beginning of 2014. Nicki and I were talking about creating a passion project that could include her, Frasier, and myself together, utilizing all of our educations and passions. Nicki and Frasier both have film degrees and have been longing to sink their immensely talented teeth into a new project. I mentioned how for years I've wanted to host a car show, but I said so without thinking it was something we could consider at that moment. As it turns out, the more all three of us spoke about Gearhead Garage, the more feasible it became. We kept plugging away at meetings and research, and before we knew it the three of us were standing outside on a Texas summer morning, camera in hand ready to roll, waiting for the sun to rise.
Each episode will start by focusing on one or more cars that fit in to a theme for the episode, and give the viewer an in depth look at the vehicle(s). Then we’ll include some history, and vital stats of the each vehicle. After we introduce you to the owners, we will roll in to some drive time with each vehicle, even trekking to a track, if applicable. Our main goal is to capture the personality of each vehicle and it's owner, and let it shine through to the viewer. Ultimately, this show will work on a submission basis, viewership, and word of mouth. We're doing episodes in Texas and Los Angeles which means, we're willing to travel elsewhere to showcase other cars, should our budget permit.
Lastly, we're now on a search for viewer video submissions. So if you want to submit a video to us, telling us about yourself, and your car, we'd love to include it at the end of each episode.
